Founded in 2008, Dominion Property Law began as a two-person practice in Naderbury with a straightforward mission: to make property law accessible, transparent, and genuinely helpful for everyday Australians. Our founding principal, Eleanor Hartfield, had spent fifteen years at a large national firm and witnessed first-hand how property clients were often overwhelmed by legal jargon, hidden fees, and impersonal service. She set out to build something different.
In those early years, we focused exclusively on residential conveyancing — helping first-home buyers, retirees downsizing, and families relocating within the Northern Territory. Word spread quickly. Clients appreciated our plain-language explanations, fixed-fee structures, and willingness to answer calls after hours when settlement deadlines loomed. By 2012, we had grown to a team of six and expanded into commercial property transactions and lease agreements.
Today, our practice encompasses the full spectrum of property law — from strata disputes and planning appeals to large-scale development agreements and native title considerations unique to the Territory. Despite our growth, we have never lost sight of the principle that guided our founding: every client deserves to understand exactly what is happening with their property matter, why it matters, and what it will cost.

Founding principal
Eleanor established Dominion Property Law in 2008 after fifteen years in national practice. She specialises in complex commercial transactions and development agreements, and has been recognised by the Law Society of the Northern Territory for her pro bono contributions to housing access programs.
Senior associate
Daniel joined the firm in 2014 and leads our residential conveyancing practice. He manages over one hundred and fifty settlements per year and is known for his meticulous attention to contract conditions, special conditions, and vendor disclosure requirements.
Solicitor
Priya focuses on lease agreements, strata title disputes, and tenancy law. Before joining Dominion Property Law in 2019, she completed a Master of Property Law at the University of Melbourne and clerked at the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal.

Growing demand from local businesses leads to the launch of our commercial property division. We recruit two additional solicitors and begin advising on retail leases and industrial acquisitions.
